Getting into Covio

Covio is used by whole factories, so an account always belongs to a company. That changes how you get one — start with the question that matches you.

Where do I sign in?

At covio.in. The sign-in form is the first thing on the page — there is no separate login address to remember.

Sign in with the email address your company invited, or the username you were given. Both work in the same box.

I've been told to use Covio. How do I get an account?

Someone creates it for you — Covio has no public sign-up, and there is no “Create account” button to look for. Which person depends on who you are:

  • 1If you run the company — Covio sets your company up and invites you as its owner. That invitation is the start of everything else.
  • 2If you work at a company already using Covio — your owner or an admin adds you from Team → Add user. Ask them; it takes them about a minute.

Either way you then do the same two things:

  • 1Open the invitation link you were sent. On that one screen you type your name and choose a password of at least 12 characters — there is no second link to wait for. If you run or administer the company, add your WhatsApp number there too: that is where your sign-in codes will go.
  • 2Sign in at covio.in. If you own or administer a company, Covio then asks you to switch on the second step — see below.

Didn't get an invitation email? Ask whoever invited you to send it again from Team. If Covio shows them the link on screen, they can paste it straight to you. An invitation link works once and expires.

I have an account but I can't sign in

  • 1Check you are using the address your company invited. A personal address you also own will not work unless that is the one on the invitation.
  • 2Type your email into the sign-in box, then choose Forgot password? underneath it. The reset link lasts 24 hours and works once.
  • 3If no reset email arrives within a few minutes, ask your owner or admin to reset it for you. They can do it from Team, and they can hand you the link directly.

After too many attempts in a row Covio pauses sign-in for a minute. That is the brute-force defence doing its job — wait sixty seconds and try again rather than retrying immediately.

It's asking me for a six-digit code

Owners and admins sign in with a second step, because those accounts can change what everyone else is allowed to do. There is no app to install: Covio sends a six-digit code to your WhatsApp. You give the number once, on Secure your account, and codes go there from then on.

Each code lasts five minutes. Once you are in, that browser stays trusted for thirty days and will not ask again. If no code arrives, wait a few seconds and choose Resend the code — and check the number you gave is the one WhatsApp is on.

You get a few days' grace after your first sign-in, counted down in a banner at the top of every screen. When it runs out you cannot open Covio until the second step is set up, so do it on the first day rather than the last.

Save the recovery codes Covio shows you. They are shown once and each one signs you in a single time. A new phone number with no recovery codes is the one case we have to sort out by hand — write to hello@covio.in from the address you sign in with and we will verify who you are before changing anything.

I'm in, but a screen says it isn't switched on yet

Covio shows you only what your company has bought and what your admin has given you. A Service that says it is not switched on for your company, or that you have not been given a site yet, is an unfinished setup rather than a fault.

Ask your owner or admin: they assign Services and sites from Team, and both take effect the moment they save.

I want Covio for my factory

Tell us about your plant and we will set the company up and invite you as its owner. There is nothing to install.

Still stuck?

Email hello@covio.in and tell us what you were trying to do and what you saw. If Covio showed you a reference code, include it — it points us straight at the right line in the logs.
